.EU is the country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for the European Union and is only available to those businesses and individuals located in the EU.
2) Who can register for a .eu domain name and what are the special registration requirements/restrictions for .eu domain name?
Special requirements/restrictions for a .eu domain name are as below:-
- In order to register a .eu domain name, registrants must meet one of the following criteria:
- Undertakings having their registered office, central administration or
principal place of business within the European Community;
- Organizations established within the European Community without
prejudice to the application of national law;
- Natural person’s resident within the European Community.
- Address and country must be within the European Union (EU).
3) Can I change registrant name for .eu domain name?
Yes, partners are allow to change registrant name for .eu domain name.
4) Can I delete a domain after registered?
No, partners are not allowed to delete a .eu domain name after registered.
5) Is there any special regulation on the term of .EU domain names?
Just like with other extensions, .eu domain names also have an expiration date of one year from the registration date (if a domain name is renewed for more than one year, the public Whois database will display in any case the one-year expiration date.) There is no grace period for .EU domain renewal after domain's expiration date. We will delete the domain by its expiration date unless you wish to renew and extend the registration term. Once the domain name is deleted, it will fall into Quarantine" pool, which willincur additional fee to restore it. Therefore, to avoid deletion of .EU, please renew it 24 minium hours before its expiry date.
